  • Finding a Less Expensive Foreign Exchange Student Insurance

Foreign exchange student insurance is a requirement for a foreign exchange student. However, this type of insurance may be a little expensive.

Some universities offering student exchange programs also offer foreign exchange student insurance. Of course, there is nothing wrong with getting the insurance that your university offers, as it would be more convenient that way, and for some schools, a requirement.

However, there are cases where insurance offered by the university is more expensive than those insurance policies offered by regular insurance companies. If this is the case and you are on a tight budget, you can opt out of the university’s insurance option.

There are universities that allow their foreign exchange students to not get insurance from them, as long as you can present proof that you already have a policy from a third party company. You must take note that aside from less expensive international student insurance, the company that you prefer should meet the university’s requirements.
