  • International Student Insurance, Not Really Important to Students?

A recent survey involving students in a particular state revealed that a very small number of students thought of getting a health insurance policy, even international student insurance for US students.

According to the survey, the reason why is because students are content to be under their parents’ plan. This might also be true for those students who plan to participate in student exchange programs.

Despite being covered by a parents’ insurance, a student will still benefit more for having a policy that is solely their own. There are benefits that will apply to one who is the actual policyholder than one who is only a dependent of a policyholder.

Especially for an international student, it is important to have an insurance policy that is all on his own. Being away from his own country, international student insurance will be one of the tools that he will find helpful in case he encounters a medical emergency abroad.
