  • Know your child’s “international student insurance” needs

It is a matter of great pride and anxiety for parents when their young child is going out to a different country to pursue his/her education. So much needs to be done to make sure that the transition is smooth. University applications, visa, travel documents, last minute advices… The list is endless. Between all this and a hundred other stuff, do not forget about Foreign Student Insurance.

All these years your child has been under your watchful eyes. No medical emergency could have hampered your child with you around. Your family health insurance has probably taken care of your child’s health for all his life till now.

But, a domestic health insurance policy might not offer coverage for students studying in a foreign country. Government schemes in the foreign country (like Medicare and Medicaid in the USA) may not cover students from other countries. What now? International Student Insurance comes to help. Since these policies are created specifically for students living and studying abroad, it is essential to get one for your young student.

While it is difficult to avoid medical emergencies, it is simple to stay covered. Make sure that between an emotionally trying time of parting with your young one, and a moment of pride seeing him/her transform into an adult, you do not forget this simple fact. Health insurance is an essential requirement for students abroad.
