  • Medical Insurance for International Students

International Student Medical Insurance provides health insurance coverage for international students studying in the United States, and for US citizens conducting their education abroad. Most colleges and universities, both in the US and abroad, require students to have proof of health insurance.

The college or university provided health care plan is often times overpriced and expensive. Students are not required to purchase health insurance provided by their university. Instead, students may opt to purchase health insurance through a different party.

Medical insurance for international students provides coverage for cases entailing prescription drugs, surgical procedures, hospitalization, evacuation/ambulatory services, and repatriation. Health insurance coverage also encompasses some cases of mental illness. Some specific insurance plans also offer coverage for maternity and pre-existing conditions.

International Student Medical Insurance is made available for a period of 5 days up to 12 months. Coverage is provided for the insured as well as for his/her family. There a number of plans with various coverage limits and deductibles. The cost of your health care plan depends on your medical history, needs, where you will be studying, and the deductibles you choose.
