  • Study Abroad Insurance - A Must for Student Travelers

Spending a semester in a foreign country is a great idea. It provides an amazing cultural experience and it looks great on a resume. However, if you have not prepared by buying study abroad insurance, your trip could be one you regret.

Even if you have health insurance in your home country, that policy probably does not cover injuries and illnesses that occur outside of the country in which it was issued. What does this mean? It means you will be forced to pay full rate for health care, which can easily add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

While a simple semester abroad may not seem long enough to suffer any health issues, the truth is that health problems can occur anytime and anywhere. You can never predict something like an auto accident or catching a virus, and as a result you should be prepared at all times. Study abroad insurance is your best way to prepare, as it will allow you access to affordable high-quality healthcare in the country you are studying in.

Studying abroad can be a great investment in your future, not to mention a wonderful memory. But without proper preparation, it can be a very expensive trip in more ways than one.
