  • Why Choose Foreign Students Insurance?

As an international student beginning a study abroad program, you will need insurance coverage beyond the domestic plan that you use in your native country. Those plans typically do not cover health issues arising in other countries. With that in mind, you will find that foreign students insurance makes for a wise choice.

One reason to choose foreign students insurance is that most universities have implemented policies stating that all students carry some sort of health insurance coverage. Students must show proof of coverage prior to enrolling at a school, and if they do not have a policy already, they will be forced to pay for the school's own insurance plan. The two main problems with these plans are that they can be very expensive and they can be quite restrictive in terms of who students are allowed to see for treatment.

Another good reason to choose these policies is the wide range of services they can include. These policies can extend beyond emergency care and can also include prescriptions, dental care, and hospital stays. It also covers unique situations like maternity care, repatriation of remains, and evacuation coverage - quite a wide range of features!

This type of insurance will save students hundreds, and perhaps even thousands of dollars in medical fees. And they will also meet most universities' coverage requirements. Be sure to investigate these policies as you consider enrolling in a study abroad program. Commenting is not available in this channel entry.
